Sittin’ on the dock of the bay

I do not live near the coast, so I often go there when I am on holiday. I love the sight of the horizon, the smell of seawater and the sound of the waves against the shore. And I always take a lot of pictures when I am near the sea, seeing motives everywhere…

I live in a part of the world called Norway with my wife and two daughters. I worked as a telecom engineer for 20 years. Nowadays I am attending a helpdesk supporting colleagues with computer problems. I am also a hobby photographer who believe we ought to pay more attention to how we treat our planet and each other. I trust the reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and I am disappointed that leading politicians in my own and other countries more or less have been ignoring warnings from the scientists for 20 years.

  1. “… and the sound of the waves against the shore” The sounds of waves and cries of gulls are rhythmic and enduring … they whisper “r-e-l-a-x” to me. Where I live 100 meters above a fjord near Bergen, I don’t have the sounds of waves. But the seagulls do fly by, and their cries still say “slow down, relax, it’s vacation time.” (I know fishermen don’t agree with me!)

Your photo is wonderful — clear and pure, yet full of light and reflections too. Beautiful!
