Divestment is perhaps the fastest-growing front of the fight against climate change - already universities from Stanford to Scotland have begun the process. Even the Rockefeller Brothers Fund - heir to the first great oil fortune - has decided its both immoral and financially imprudent to keep investing in coal, gas and oil. That's because - as the bank of England governor Mark Carney recently pointed out - we already have far more reserves of these fuels than scientists say we can safely burn. And yet the fossil fuel companies keep scouring the globe to find yet more carbon.

I live in a part of the world called Norway with my wife and two daughters. I worked as a telecom engineer for 20 years. Nowadays I am attending a helpdesk supporting colleagues with computer problems. I am also a hobby photographer who believe we ought to pay more attention to how we treat our planet and each other. I trust the reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and I am disappointed that leading politicians in my own and other countries more or less have been ignoring warnings from the scientists for 20 years.
