I was shutting the bedroom window one early Sunday morning, when I discovered we were having visitors in our garden.
“I have lived with several Zen masters – all of them cats.”

I admit I have a soft spot for cats. This is the same one that had a meeting with a fox outside our kitchen window.
My wife and I had quite a surprise at breakfast today, when we were watching a cat outside our house and a fox suddenly came out from the woods. The cat’s strategy was clear: Get as high up as you can and try to look as big and dangerous as possible. And the strategy worked, the fox left and there was no fighting. Picture taken through the kitchen window.
Another picture of a lynx at Langedrag Mountain farm and Wildlife park. I am glad to know there are still some of these living in the free here in Norway.
Update april 2014: The hunting season for lynx 2014 has now come to an end, and sadly, there are now 70 animals less living in Norway.
Three roe deer crossed the railway line in front of our house this morning, and I happened to look out of the window at the exact right time. That’s one of those experiences that make me feel so privileged.
Almost choked on my morning coffee when four roe deer suddenly appeared only 10 metres from the house. Almost unreal they were, in their beauty and grace. Luckily I got a picture of one of them – so it wasn’t a dream.
